Film Maker Sits in La Prevoyante's Action Spot

Donald Adam's 5-year-old homebred mare Film Maker will be the high weight and probable favorite in a field of 12 fillies and mares entered in the $200,000 La Prevoyante Handicap (gr. IIT) during Calder Race Course's Grand Slam II program.

Jockey Edgar Prado gets the call on Film Maker in her first start since a good third-place effort in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) at Belmont Park Oct. 29.

Trained by Graham Motion, Film Maker is a daughter of Dynaformer and has been among the leaders of her division the last three years going back to her victory in the 2003 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (gr. IT) at Keeneland. Another career highlight was finishing second to European champion Ouija Board in the 2004 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Lone Star Park.

Trainer Christophe Clement has won the La Prevoyante four times and has solid contenders in Saturday's race with Green Hills Farm's 4-year-old filly Spotlight, to be ridden by Brice Blanc, and Lewis Schaffel's 4-year-old filly Joyful Chaos.

The accomplished field also includes 5-year-old mare Moscow Burning, shipping in from California for trainer James Cassidy with jockey David Flores along for the ride. The daughter of Moscow Ballet also is a Breeders' Cup veteran, finishing fourth in the 2004 Filly & Mare Turf at Lone Star behind Ouija Board and Film Maker.

Moscow Burning won the 2004 Sheepshead Bay Handicap (gr. IIT) at Belmont Park and won the California Cup Distaff at Santa Anita oNov. 6 in her first start since mid-April. She made the trip to Florida earlier this year, finishing fifth in the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf, beaten less than a length in a wild finish.
