Quick Action, a New York stakes winner from the female family responsible for Storm Cat, will enter stud at Martin Stables South near Reddick, Fla.

The 4-year-old son of Carson City will stand for a fee of $3,500 live foal.

Trained by D. Wayne Lukas, Quick Action won at Aqueduct in his first start at two and captured the Fred "Cappy" Capossela Stakes by 7 3/4 lengths at Aqueduct as a 3-year-old in just his third career start. He won the Anderson Fowler Stakes at Monmouth Park later that year, running the five furlongs in :57.16.

Quick Action retired with seven wins or placings from 17 starts and earnings of $192,130. He ran second in the Lafayette (gr. III) and Ogygian Stakes and was third in the Whirlaway Stakes.

"Quick Action fits the profile of the horses who have excelled in Florida," owner Eddie Martin said. "He was a precocious 2-year-old who was loaded with speed."

Quick Action's dam, Indian Sunset, is by Storm Cat's sire, Storm Bird, and Quick Action's second dam is a full sister to Terlingua, dam of Storm Cat.
