Gross Declines 26.4% at Fasig-Tipton Texas Mixed Sale

Business slumped at the Fasig-Tipton Texas December mixed sale Sunday at Lone Star Park. The 157 horses sold grossed $607,400, a 26.4% drop from last year's total of $825,300 when 180 horses were sold. The average price fell 15.6%, from $4,585 in 2004 to $3,869 this year. The median price declined 23.1%, from $2,600 to $2,000. The buy-back rate rose from 24.7% to 35.9%.
Cozzene'saffair, winner of the 2000 Jiffy Lube Stakes at Sam Houston, brought the top price of $65,000 while in foal to
Congaree . Jerry Cutrona purchased the 9-year-old daughter of
Black Tie Affair from Lane's End Texas, agent.

Cozzene), Cozzene'saffair is a full sister to added-money winner Balboa Park. Cozzene'saffair's second dam, Stage Flite (by Lord Durham), was a champion in Canada and a half-sister to another Canadian champion, Bold Ruritana.. Stage Flite's offspring included Duke of Flite (by Alleged), a champion in Italy.
