Graded Winner Wiseman's Ferry to Castleton Lyons

Wiseman's Ferry, a 6-year-old son of Hennessy, was a multiple graded stakes winner who earned $825,266. He stood his initial two seasons at Empire Stud in New York, where he covered 104 mares in 2004 and 88 the following year.

Wiseman's Ferry, whose big wins came in the West Virginia (gr. III) and Lone Star (gr. III) Derbys, is from the same family as prominent young sire Bernstein, who stands at Castleton Lyons, and promising young stallion Sky Mesa.

"We feel particularly fortunate to be able to identify another exciting young horse to bring to Kentucky for local breeders," said farm general manager Julian Dollar. "He is a superb looking individual and has rightly proved hugely popular with New York breeders. With Bernstein's progeny winning all over the globe and Sky Mesa's foals (as weanling) selling through the roof this November, we feel that this young horse represents great value at $8,500."

Wiseman's Ferry's first crop of foals sold impressively as weanlings at the recent Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton November sales, with ones commanding prices of $70,000 and $80,000.

Wiseman's Ferry, who was produced from the Silver Deputy mare Emmaus, is expected to arrive at Castleton Lyons near Lexington this weekend and will be available for inspection early next week. He will stand for $8,500 live foal.
