Grade I winner The Deputy has been purchased privately and will be relocated to Hubel Farms near Clare, Mich., where he will stand for $2,000.

The Deputy, an 8-year-old Irish-bred son of Petardia, scored his big wins as a 3-year-old in the 2000 Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) and Santa Catalina Stakes (gr. II). Three of his runners have won or placed in stakes this year, including Panamanian group winner Happy Buy and multiple stakes-placed Ellen's Foxy Girl.

The Deputy is a half-brother to Japanese champion King Kamehameha and is out of the Last Tycoon mare Manfath. He formerly stood at Margaux Farm in Kentucky.
