Stewards in Texas have suspended jockey Lonnie Meche for a second time after he tested positive for amphetamines Nov. 5 at Sam Houston Race Park.

Meche began serving his suspension Nov. 17, Daily Racing Form reports, and will be gone for at least six months. Meche, 32, the twin brother of jockey Donnie Meche, must pass an evaluation by the Texas Racing Commission's medical review officer before he can be reinstated, the publication said.

He tested positive for amphetamines in April at Lone Star Park and was hit with a 45-day ban.
