Graded stakes winner Smart Guy will stand in 2006 at Vince Tucciarone's Fox Tale Stud near Coopersburg, Pa. A 9-year-old son of Smarten out of the Talc mare Royal Tali, Smart Guy won four stakes as a 3-year-old, including the 1999 Pennsylvania Derby (gr. III), and earned a career total of $502,740. He is a full brother to stakes winner Maragold Princess.
Smart Guy, who is owned by David Malatesta, was bred to a limited number of mares the last several years because of a suspensory injury. He last stood at Conowingo Lake Farm in Maryland. His 2006 fee is $1,500.
