Tony Cissell has been named manager of WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky., replacing Gary Bush, who recently resigned.
Cissell began his duties at Kenny Troutt and Bill Casner's farm Nov. 20.
Most recently general manager of Castleton Lyons Farm, Cissell is the former manager of Calumet Farm. He began his career with Eaton Farms, was yearling manager at Calumet, managed Elk Hill Farm, and then was general manager of Calumet from 1998-2003. He worked as director of sales and bloodstock services for Middlebrook Farm before joining Castleton Lyons.
"Tony's record at Calumet speaks for itself," Doug Cauthen, president of WinStar, said. "He not only helped Calumet in maintaining a great, historic facility but helped them succeed in the commercial marketplace.
"He will be a big asset here," Cauthen continued. "He is very well known and very well respected in the industry. He will be the face of the farm, dealing with overall management and helping coordinate our sales effort."
