Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed Dominate Day 2 of Foal Sale

Trading stepped up a gear as the better lots appeared on day two of Tattersalls' December Foal Sale in Newmarket, England Thursday, with John Ferguson buying three of the four six-figure lots on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed.
Heading his purchases was a Fantastic Light colt bought for 120,000 guineas from the consignment Richard and Sally Aston's Goldford Stud, which the bred the February foal in partnership with Peter Clinton.
Ferguson also paid 105,000gns for both a full-brother to German group I winner Ransom O'War (by Red Ransom
) and the same sum for a first-crop Dubai Destination
colt consigned for John Turner by Trickledown Stud.
Paul McCartan, manager of Denis Brosnan's Croom House Stud in County Limerick, purchased the other six-figure lot when going to 105,000 guineas for a Medicean colt who had been bought "in utero" for just 35,000 guineas at last year's December Sale.
