Pleasant Home, upset winner of the Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I), has been retired from racing and is booked to prominent sire Awesome Again  . A homebred for Ogden Mills "Dinny" Phipps, the 4-year-old daughter of Seeking the Gold arrived Nov. 9 at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky.

Pleasant Home's Distaff win came by 9 1/4 lengths at 30-1 over a field that included the previous year's winner, Ashado, who finished third. Pleasant Home retired with five wins from a dozen starts and earnings of $1,378,070 for trainer Claude R. "Shug" McGaughey.

Awesome Again, whose 2006 fee at Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Kentucky near Midway is $125,000, is best known for siring last year's Horse of the Year Ghostzapper.

The resultant foal from the Awesome Again/Pleasant Home mating will be inbred 4 x 3 x 5 to Mr. Prospector, Seeking the Gold's sire.
