Brent King, Managed Family's King's Way Farm, Dies

Brent King, who managed his family's King's Way Farm near Paris, Ky., died Nov. 20 at his home after an eight-year battle with cancer. He was 44.
King served as resident farm manager the past 15 years, and was involved in the foaling, raising, and sales preparation of such notable horses as 1987 Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Very Subtle and grade I winner Buzz My Bell, dam of Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner Grindstone.
King was a member of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers' Club and Northeast Christian Church. His great desire was to see the new wing added to the church.
His survivors include his father, Hugh G. King III, and mother, Barbara; a brother, Hugh G. King IV; and a sister, Tyler. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the W. R. Milward Mortuary-Southland. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Nov. 22.
