Grade I stakes-placed Wondertross has been retired from racing, but owners George Steinbrenner and William Condren have not yet decided where to stand the 5-year-old son of Chief's Crown. Bred by Steinbrenner's Kinsman Farm, Wondertross suffered a torn suspensory in his right front leg in the Feb. 28 Cryptoclearance Stakes at Gulfstream Park, and remains with trainer Nick Zito at the track.
Wondertross, who was produced from the In Reality mare Undeniably, placed in both the Florida Derby (gr. I) and Remsen Stakes (gr. II) and was retired with four wins from 11 starts and earnings of $254,339. His grade II stakes-winning full brother, Concerto, stands at Ocala Stud Farm near Ocala, Fla., as the property of Kinsman Farm.
