The Lewis Family Stables' Whos Crying Now, closing with a rush, won by a head over his stablemate, Supervisor.

Whos Crying Now - ridden by Manoel Cruz - and Supervisor provided a thrilling finish to the 1 1/8-mile race, dueling in deep stretch and coming into contact as Supervisor, along the inside with Aurelio Toribio Jr. aboard, drifted out. The bumping prompted a stewards' inquiry, which resulted in no change to the order of finish.

"I kept a hold of him and didn't use him until the half-mile position," Cruz said. "At the quarter pole, he made another run.

"The other horse (Supervisor) drifted a little," Cruz said of the bumping. "The stewards put up the inquiry sign, and they checked it out. My horse didn't do anything wrong."

Whos Crying Now, a 5-year-old gelded son of Concerto, finished fourth last out in the Spend A Buck Handicap (gr. III) Oct. 15, a race won by Supervisor. The Carl Rose was Whos Crying Now's eighth lifetime victory in 34 starts and pushes his career earnings to $381,248.

"(Whos Crying Now) got in trouble the last time, and then both got in trouble today and finished one-two anyway," Tortora noted. "I've got to run them in races together, because these are the only races for them. Neither one handles the grass, so that limits their options even more. But that's all right."

Dazzling Dr. Cevin, the Calder Derby winner, finished five lengths back in third with Julio Garcia in the irons.

The winner covered nine furlongs in 1:52.68 and paid $22.80, $16.60, and $5.20.

Supervisor returned $16.60 and $6.60.

Dazzling Dr. Cevin paid $4 to show.

The high payouts were the result of the race's favorites, 2-1 B.B. Best and Summer Book and Palladio, both 3-1, finishing off the board.

Palladio finished fourth after making a sweeping move to get the lead in upper stretch. Summer Book was fifth, followed by B.B. Best, who tired after taking the lead on the far turn, Bob's Proud Moment, Cervelo, Dream On Dream On, and Hear No Evil.

Revved Up Charges to Bonnie Heath Turf Cup Victory
Live Oak Plantation's 7-year-old gelding Revved Up scored an impressive late-running victory in the $150,000 Bonnie Heath Turf Cup.

Trained by Christophe Clement, Revved Up won the 1 1/8-mile turf race with jockey Brice Blanc in the irons.

Blanc kept Revved Up on the hedge racing in the middle of the pack for most of the race before angling out in the stretch to win by 2 ½ lengths over Silver Tree, the even-money favorite ridden by Jerry Bailey. Gin and Sin (Jorge Chavez) finished third. Revved Up covered the distance on firm turf in 1:45.89.

Sent off as second choice in the wagering, Revved Up paid $5, $2.40, and $2.20.

Silver Tree returned $2.20 and $2.20.

Gin and Sin paid $3.80 to show.

The victory pushes Revved Up's career earnings to $946,596 with a lifetime record of 27-12-6-1. The son of Sultry Song is a graded stakes winner.

Weigelia Repeat Winner of Jack Dudley Sprint
After a summer campaign in the northeast, Joseph Balsamo's Weigelia returned to Calder to win the $150,000 Jack Dudley Sprint for the second straight year.

The 4-year-old colt has won six races at Calder, but despite that, bettors sent him off at odds of 9-to-1.

Jose Lezcano rode Weigelia in the gate-to-wire win, a 2 ¾-lengths victory over Mister Fotis and Jorge Chavez. Qureall (Eddie Casto) was third while Santana Strings, the even-money favorite ridden by Jerry Bailey, finished fourth. Weigelia covered the six furlongs in 1:09.40.

Michael Trombetta trains Weigelia, a son of Safely's Mark. The victory pushes the colt's lifetime earnings to $668,170 with an overall record of 9-5-6 in 27 starts.

Weigelia paid $20.40, $9.80, and $5.80.

Mister Fotis returned $9.60 and $6.60,

Qureall paid $4.60 to show.

American Miss Struts in Elmer Heubeck Distaff
American Miss, a 4-year-old gray filly owned by Dr. Derek K. Paul and Dr. J.C. Benjamin, won the $200,000 Elmer Heubeck Distaff Handicap.

Trained by Cecil Paul and ridden by Jose Lezcano, American Miss finished 1 ¼ lengths in front of Special Report and covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:46.43. Appealing Pond came in third.

American Miss, a winner of three races at Calder this summer, tracked the early leaders Pitanga and Special Report and launched her bid on the far turn. Upon reaching the quarter pole, American Miss was full of run and her momentum carried her to the lead.

The daughter of Ameri Valay earned $120,000 from the victory, pushing her lifetime earnings to $228,020. She returned $13.40, $6.80, and $5.60.

Special Report, ridden by Jorge Chavez, paid $4.40 and $4.20,

Appealing Pond, Manoel Cruz aboard, returned $4.40 to show.

DQ Results in Dead-Heat in John Franks Juvenile Fillies Turf
A jockey's objection, a dead-heat, and a disqualification marked the $100,000 John Franks Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Mia's Reflection crossed the finished line first in the 1 1/16 miles turf race, but was disqualified for causing interference in the stretch to Survicat, who dead-heated for second place with Good Intentions. The disqualification moved both Survicat and Good Intentions to first, while Mia's Reflection was placed third.

The final time over firm turf in 1:43.34, with Mia's Reflection and Carlos Olivero under the wire a half-length in front of Survicat and Good Intentions. Survicat was ridden by Richard Bracho and Good Intentions had jockey Eddie Castro, who had already won two stakes earlier on the card.

Survicat, trained by Larry Bates for Victor Kresic, broke her maiden in the John Franks and paid $7.20, $7.40, and $3.60.

Good Intentions, the post time favorite, is trained by Bill White for Donald Dizney and returned $3.40, $3.20, and $2.40.

Mia's Reflection paid $2.80 to show.

Peach Flambe Earns Sweet Victory
A 14-to-1 longshot, Peach Flambe ran an impressive race to win the $150,000 Joe O'Farrell Juvenile Fillies over the 6-to-5 favorite Stolen Prayer. Jockey Tom Turner rode the 2-year-old filly to victory for Rockin BB Ranch and trainer Mary Wisniewski-Johnson.

Stolen Prayer set the pace in the seven-furlong race while Peach Flambe stalked in second and took over the lead at the head of the stretch. Peach Flambe drew off to win by seven lengths and covered the distance in 1:24.42. Secret Brook finished third.

Peach Flambe returned $31.40, $7.60, and $5.

Stolen Prayer paid $3 and $3.

Secret Brook returned $7.60.

The victory was Peach Flambe's second in three starts and pushes her lifetime earnings to $118,200. Her two previous starts were at Monmouth Park in New Jersey. She is a daughter of Flying Chevron.

Mr. Silver Shines in Arthur Appleton Juvenile Turf
Mr. Silver won the third race of his career and his first stakes race in the $100,000 Arthur Appleton Juvenile Turf. It was the second stakes victory of the day for trainer Eddie Plesa, Jr. and jockey Eddie Castro.

Mr. Silver covered the 1 1/16-mile distance on firm turf in 1:42.50. Gin Rummy King, ridden by Eduardo Nunez, was 1 1/2 lengths behind in second place, while Full In (Juan Leyva) was another three lengths back in third.

Thorobeam Farm and Henry Mast own Mr. Silver, a son of Concorde's Tune. The victory pushes his career earnings to $101,680.

Sent off as the second betting choice, Mr. Silver returned $6, $3.20, and $3.

The 8-to-5 post time favorite, Gin Rummy King, returned $3.20 and $2.80.

Electrify extended his win streak to three by taking the $150,000 Jack Price Juvenile and remains undefeated for owner/breeder Padua Stables and trainer Eddie Plesa, Jr.

Jockey Eddie Castro rode the 2-year-old son of Delaware Township to the 2 1/2-length victory over Big Lover, while the 3-to-5 favorite, Cab, finished third. Electrify covered the seven furlongs in 1:23.03.

Electrify paid $10.60, $7, and $2.10.

Big Lover returned $7 and $2.10.

Cab paid $2.10 to show.

The win pushes Electrify's lifetime earnings to $128,800.
