So Long Birdie to Buena Suerte Equine

So Long Birdie, a half-brother to Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Birdstone   and champion filly Bird Town, will stand in 2006 at Dr. Leonard Blach's Buena Suerte Equine near Roswell, N.M. His fee will be $2,000.

By Pioneering out of the Storm Bird mare Dear Birdie, 3-year-old So Long Birdie won two of five starts and ran second, beaten a nose, in the San Miguel Stakes at Santa Anita. He retires with earnings of $60,020. He is owned by Alaska Great Eagle, which claimed him for $40,000 in his first start at two at Hollywood Park.
