TV Games Network set a new quarterly handle record when it processed $119.8 million in wagers in the third quarter of this year. The figure is up 32.1% from the third quarter of 2004.
TVG also said it set handle records for the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, held Oct. 29 this year at Belmont Park. Handle on all Belmont races (including advance wagering) was $4,154,332, up 29.9% from the Cup day program held at Lone Star Park in 2004.
Total handle from all tracks Oct. 29 was $5,396,978, up 27% from the same day last year.
"These record wagering performances are reflective of the continued implementation of our strategic plan to grow the business," John Hindman, vice president of communications and general counsel for TVG, said in a statement. "We remain committed to providing innovative programming and products that can offer significant benefits to our exclusive racetrack partners, their horsemen, and our customers."
