Edited press release
HorseRacing TV will present complete, live, uninterrupted coverage of the first two days of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale Nov. 7-8. HRTV coverage will begin each day at 10 a.m. EST.
HRTV's normal schedule of live Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing will continue at the conclusion of the sale each day.
"We are very pleased to partner with Keeneland to bring hammer-to-hammer coverage of the first two days of the Keeneland November sale to our viewers," HRTV executive producer Amy Zimmerman said in a release. "It is one of the great events on the Thoroughbred calendar, and the names of some of the horses that are catalogued, especially those first two days, affirm that. This sale goes to the heart of HRTV's mission statement to bring all aspects of the horse racing industry to a wider audience."
"Many of the sport's biggest stars passed through the Keeneland sale ring prior to, during, or after their racing careers," Keeneland director of communications Jim Williams said. "HRTV will enable viewers to watch and enjoy the first two days of the world's premier breeding stock sale."
The 12-day sale in Lexington concludes Nov. 18. Keeneland has catalogued 4,477 horses, including three stallion shares. Last year, the top price paid was $4.8 million for Santa Catarina, who was in foal to A.P. Indy.
HRTV is owned and operated by Magna Entertainment Corp. It is available via satellite television systems and some cable television systems.
