Super Frolic, who outran his 69-1 odds while finishing an eventful fourth in the Breeders' Cup Classic Powered by Dodge (gr. I), was injured and will need some time to recover.
"He didn't come back real good," trainer Vladmir Cerin said of the Hawthorne Gold Cup (gr. II) winner after the 5-year-old son of Pine Bluff
returned from Belmont Park. "He grabbed his (right front) pastern and a quarter the first jump out of the gate. It's not career threatening and he's getting better every day. Hopefully, we'll go to Japan."
The $2.3 million Japan Cup Dirt (Jpn-I), at about 1 ¼ miles, is on Nov. 26.
Super Frolic, an 11-time winner in his 32-race career, earned $266,760 in the Classic while beaten by three lengths by Saint Liam, the probable Horse of the Year. He has now earned $1,225,614.
