Horsemen's Texas Hold'Em Tournament to Benefit Race for Education

The Race For Education and Operation Read will hold the third no-limit Horsemen's Texas Hold'Em Poker Tournament Nov. 12, at The Campbell House Inn in Lexington.Players in the $500/seat tournament will compete for cash prizes, including $5,000 for first prize, $3,000 for second and $2,000 for third. Prizes will be awarded through 10th place, for a total of $14,500 (based on a minimum of 75 players). Registration begins at 7 p.m., with play starting at 8 p.m. Three buy-backs at $150 apiece will be available. A limited number of tickets for spectators will be available at $50 per person. The entry fee includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Sponsors of the tournament include: Blood-Horse Publications, Thoroughbred Times, Fifth Third Bank, Leprechaun Racing, DTS Bloodstock, KESMARC, and Z-Rock 103 FM.Celebrity guest players include retired Hall of Fame jockey Chris McCarron, Lexington Horsemen quarterback Dusty Bonner and Z-Rock 103 DJ Fish. Members of the University of Kentucky chapter of the Sigma Epsilon fraternity are volunteering as dealers for the evening.
