Breeders' Cup Head-to-Head Match-Ups Announced

The head-to-head match-ups for the eight Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championship races were announced at the post-position draw Wednesday morning. The Breeders' Cup is Oct. 29 at Belmont Park.

The wager pits two or three horses against each other with the wager paid off not for hitting the board, but simply finishing in front. This is the first year some of the races have three horses in the head-to-head match-up.

By race, the head-to-head match-ups are:

Classic – Borrego and Rock Hard Ten
Turf – Bago, Better Talk Now, and Skakespeare
Distaff – Healthy Addiction and Sweet Symphony
Mile – Artie Schiller, Gorella, and Singletary
Sprint – Lion Tamer and Silver Train
Filly & Mare Turf – Film Maker, Ouija Board, and Wonder Again
Juvenile – Sorcerer's Stone, Stevie Wonderboy, and Stream Cat
Juvenile Fillies – Diamond Omi and Ex Caelis
