Keeneland Kat became the latest casualty of the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, being declared out of the Alberto Culver VO5 Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) Wednesday morning.

The Hennessy filly had a respiratory problem following her third-place finish in the Frizette (gr. I) Oct. 8 at Belmont. She was scoped since the race and it appeared the illness had cleared up. However she coughed following a trip to the track Monday and a subsequent examination forced owners George and Lori Hall and trainer Kelly Breen to scratch the filly.

Keeneland Kat won her first two starts, breaking her maiden at Monmouth July 23 and then just two weeks later winning the Sorority Stakes at the same track. The Frizette ws her third start and she finished 6 3/4 lengths behind Adieu and Along the Sea.

Keeneland Kat is the fourth pre-entered horse from the Juvenile Fillies scratched since pre-entries were taken Oct. 19. She is the ninth horse scratched from the eight Breeders' Cup races overall to be run Saturday at Belmont Park.
