British-born Jamie Lloyd, currently assistant to Patrick Gallagher in California, is set to train the top lot Monday at the Tattersalls autumn horses in training sale , the 160,000-guinea 2-year-old Shermeen (by Desert Style).
Lloyd outbid agent Gordian Troeller for the juvenile who will race for Ticker Tape's owner Jim Ford in partnership with Jim Stutts and Rick Holliday. She is likely to have her first start in the Miesque Stakes at Hollywood Park on November 26.
Domestic jumping buyers were again among those with the largest budgets and four-year-old Turnstile (by Linamix) will go hurdling for big-spending owner Graham Wylie and trainer Howard Johnson.
Agent Bobby O'Ryan paid 145,000 guineas for the gelding with Timmy Hyde the underbidder. The sale continues Tuesday.
