Trainer M. Anthony Ferraro earned his 1,000th career victory on Friday at Finger Lakes in New York when 2-year-old Go Stan Israelite won the day's first race by a nose.

John Grabowski drove the High Yield colt to victory in the one-mile, 70-yard maiden special weight event. The chestnut colt was unplaced in his two previous efforts for owner S J B Stable.

A trainer since 1985, Ferraro has earned $8,504,152 with 5,166 starters. He saddled Impeachthepro to six stakes victories in 2001 and '02.
