Edited from Maryland Jockey Club Press Release--

The Maryland Racing stewards have suspended jockeys Horacio Karamanos, Abel Castellano, and Stewart Elliott for riding in a careless manner at Laurel Park last week. Stewards Bill Passmore, Phil Grove and John Burke have suspended 11 riders since the fall meeting began on Sept. 7.

Karamanos began serving Oct, 20 but was granted permission to ride Bright Gold for Pimlico-based trainer Mary Eppler in Friday's $100,000 Buffalo Trace Stakes at Keeneland, and United in the $85,000 Japan Racing Association at Laurel Park on Saturday.

Karamanos will return on a full-time basis October 28.

Castellano and Elliott will each serve the following days: Oct. 22, 23, 26, 27, and 28.
