Quero Quero, a California grade II winner and half-sister to two-time champion sprinter Housebuster, has been retired from racing and is booked to
A.P. Indy . The 5-year-old mare retired with earnings of $390,016.
Quero Quero's best performance came in a victory in the Honeymoon Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT). The daughter of
Royal Academy placed in five stakes, four of which were graded, including the Milady Breeders' Cup (gr. I) and Gamely Breeders' Cup (gr. IT) Handicaps.
"We ran her against the best in the West," said Paulo Lobo, who trained her for Old Friends. "She could long or short, turf or dirt."
Bred in Kentucky by John R. Gaines Thoroughbreds and Pacelco S.A, Quero Quero won or placed in 11 of 18 starts. She is one of three stakes winners from the stakes-winning Great Above mare Big Dreams, and one of her half-sisters is a multiple stakes producer.
Quero Quero resides at Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky.
