The Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers Club selected Tim Thornton of Airdrie Stud as its 2005 Farm Manager of the Year. Thornton has served as general manager of Airdrie for 17 years.

The committee, headed by Ted Bates, faced a difficult choice this year, with many worthy candidates nominated. KTFMC President Ken Wilkins said of Thornton "Tim is a great choice because of his down to earth style, his success at Airdrie and his leadership roles through the years in organizations such as KTFMC and the Thoroughbred Club.

Thornton will be honored at the Dec. 2 at the KTFMC annual dinner-dance.
