Lydgate, Grand Appointment to Red River in Louisiana

Stakes winners Lydgate and Grand Appointment will enter stud as the property of syndicates at Jay Adcock's Red River Farm near Coushatta, La.Lydgate, a 5-year-old son of Pulpit , won the 2004 Aegon Turf Sprint Stakes (gr. IIIT) in :56.56 for five furlongs at Churchill Downs. He retired with two wins from 16 starts and earnings of $139,769 while racing in North America, England, and Dubai.Lydgate's dam, Keeneland stakes winner Mariuka (by Danzig), is a half-sister to three stakes winners, including French champion miler Mukaddamah. Lydgate will stand for $2,000.Grand Appointment, a 7-year-old son of Unbridled, scored his big win in the Sensational Star Handicap at Santa Anita. He captured six of 21 races and earned $298,216. His dam, Grand Sophisticate (by El Gran Senor), is a half-sister to successful young stallion Doneraile Court. Grand Appointment will stand for $1,500.
