Saint Liam Works at Aqueduct

William and Suzanne Warren's Saint Liam, winner of the Woodward Stakes (gr. I) in his last start, worked six furlongs in 1:13 at Aqueduct Monday, in preparation for the Breeders' Cup Classic - Powered by Dodge (gr. I) Oct. 29.

Trainer Richard Dutrow said the clockers caught the son of Saint Ballado galloping out seven furlongs in 1:26.

"Rudy (exercise rider Rudy Rodriquez) said he went great and that's all I go by," Dutrow said. "We're both happy with the horse, so it's all good. It was all basic stuff; he doesn't need anything special. He did it all on his own. If the track is good next Monday, I'll work him five furlongs and have him gallop out three-quarters.

"He coming into the race the right way and that's all we can ask for. He looks like he's the horse to beat, so the only thing I have to worry about is him. I don't have to worry about nothing else."

Saint Liam will be the only horse in the Classic who has won three grade I stakes this year, having captured the Woodward, Stephen Foster, and Donn Handicap, and was second, beaten a neck in the Whitney Handicap.
