Stonewall Farm Offering Incentives to Breeders

Audrey and Richard Haisfield's Stonewall Farm, which will stand stallions for the first time in 2006, announced today some interesting incentives for breeders.

The Haisfields bought 179-acre Gaillardia near Versailles, Ky., for $4.5 million from Mary Gaylord McClean in early 2004 and renamed the farm NeverTell. It was McClean's brother, E.K. Gaylord, who purchased the property in 2001 when it was Stonewall Farm, then refurbished it and sold it to his sister. The Haisfields are calling the stallion division Stonewall.

Any mating to the farm's initial group of stallions, Medaglia D'Oro  , Marquetry, Doneraile Court, and future stallion Leroidesanimaux, that results in an American stakes winner will entitle the breeder to a free, no-guarantee season back to that stallion.

The farm also announced it is making available free seasons,
on a limited basis, to grade I stakes winners or the dams of current grade I stakes winners. Applications for complimentary seasons should be submitted to Stonewall stallion marketing manager Bert Welker.

"Breeders have so much choice in terms of where to send their mares. These are just two examples of how we plan to reward those who choose to breed their mares at Stonewall Farm," Welker said.
