"If that happens, we'll get there 10 or 11 days away from the race, and I'll get a work into him over the track."
A.P. Arrow In
Trainer D. Wayne Lukas said today that A.P. Arrow, a fast-closing second in the Super Derby (gr. II) in his last start, definitely will be pointed for the Classic and will ship to Belmont the Wednesday before the race."He's just getting good now, and he loves a mile and a quarter," said Lukas, who is also pointing Matron (gr. I) winner Folklore and Alcibiades (gr. II) runner-up Ex Caelis for the Alberto VO5 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) and impressive allowance winner Sharp Attack for the Bessemer Trust Juvenile (gr. I).
Rock Hard Ten On Target
Trainer Richard Mandella said Rock Hard Ten, who is unbeaten in his care, is doing well and is on target for the Classic following a sharp six-furlong work in 1:12 4/5 on Wednesday."He came out of the Goodwood (gr. II) perfect, and his work yesterday was great," Mandella said. "I'll give him a seven-eighths work here in a week or so; then we'll ship to New York and give him some strong gallops into the race."I thought about bringing Laura's Lucky Boy for the (John Deere) Turf (gr. IT), but that's going to be too hard. So, I'm only bringing one this time, but he's the right one. He's doing everything perfectly."
