Dixie Union, sixth among the leading second-crop sires by lifetime progeny earnings, will stand for $40,000 in 2006 rather than the previously announced $30,000 at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky. The son of Dixieland Band is experiencing a hot October in which a 3-year-old daughter, Nothing But Fun, captured the Cotillion Handicap (gr. II); another daughter, 2-year-old Sensation, won the Astarita Stakes (gr. III); and a juvenile son, Unification, took the Grey Breeders' Cup Stakes (Can-III). He also had three stakes winners the second half of September.
