Buck Pond to Stand Crafty Shaw

Millionaire Crafty Shaw is the newest stallion that will take up stallion duty at Doug Arnold's Buck Pond Farm near Versailles,Ky. Purchased by the farm, the 7-year-old son of Crafty Prospector arrived Oct. 6 and sports a record of 15 wins from 44 starts and $1,046,440 in earnings. He was a stakes winner four consecutive years.
Crafty Shaw's nine stakes wins included victories in the Rebel Stakes (gr. III) and consecutive runnings of the Turfway Park Fall Championship Stakes (gr. III) as well as the Hanshin Cup (gr. III) and Essex (gr. III) Handicaps.
Crafty Shaw, who was produced from the Air Forbes Won mare Her She Shawklit, will have his stud fee announced later.
Buck Pond announced a rise in the fee for Lost Soldier, sire of unbeaten sprinter Lost in the Fog. Lost Soldier will stand for $12,500, up from $7,500.
Buck Pond will auction about 60 broodmares and weanlings at the farm Oct. 23. The mares will sell with 2006 no-guarantee seasons to farm stallions.
