Edited press release
Saturday's $500,000 Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (gr. I) is packed from top to bottom with potential 2006 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) hopefuls. Among them is Claiborne Farm's Laity. The historic Paris, Kentucky Farm has won the Breeders' Futurity a record five times. Round Table (1956), Duel (1963), Dike (1968), Swale (1983) and Forty Niner (1987) have all carried the famous gold silks to victory.

This year, Laity, a son of Claiborne stallion Pulpit, will try to add his name to that impressive list of winners. Winner of the Miller Lite Cradle Stakes at River Downs on Labor Day, Laity has two-turn experience and will have the services of Corey Lanerie, who piloted him to his 11-length 'Cradle score.

Fab Oak Stable, R. E. Hurley and Team Derby Dreams' Stream Cat is sure to give Laity a run for his money. The son of Black Minnaloushe has won back-to-back stakes, taking the With Anticipation at Saratoga and the Kentucky Cup Juvenile (gr. III) both at the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity distance of 1 1/16 miles. Top international trainer Patrick Biancone will give a leg-up to renowned European rider Kieran Fallon.

With nine starts on his resume, Frank O'Connor and David Lamond's Cool Creek is the most experienced colt in the field. Winner of the Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes (Eng-II) in his most recent trip to the gate, the son of Desert Style will be racing on the dirt and around two turns for the first time. Richard Hughes has the call for trainer Richard Hannon.

Rich Meadow Farm's Reaffirmed exits a winning effort in the Continental Mile at Monmouth Park. A winner of two starts in his three-race career, the Joe Orseno-trained son of Quaker Ridge always finishes well. Regular rider Aaron Gryder is back aboard.
