Graded stakes winner Lunarpal, the leading 2-year-old earner for part of 2004, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Le Mesa Stallions near Carencro, La.

Bred by William Heiligbrodt, Lunarpal started his career with a seven-length win at Keeneland at last year's April meeting. At Churchill Downs' spring meeting, the son of Successful Appeal captured the Bashford Manor (gr. III), Kentucky Breeders' Cup (gr. III), and Three Chimneys Juvenile Stakes.

Lunarpal, who was produced from the Quiet American mare Quiet Eclipse, retired with four wins from six starts and earnings of $284,677 for Heiligbrodt Racing Stable. He will stand for $2,500.
