Darby Dan Farm plans to keep the fee for Eclipse Award-winning sprinter Aldebaran at $40,000. The 2006 season will be the third season for Aldebaran (Mr. Prospector--Chimes of Freedom, by Private Account) at the Lexington farm.Darby Dan also announced the following fees: $15,000 for Meadowlake and Perfect Soul; $12,500 for Saarland; $10,000 for Matty G and Vicar; $7,500 for Behrens; and $5,000 for Hap and Repriced. All are fees live foal due Sept. 1.Behrens, Hap, and Repriced will all be eligible for Darby Dan's Profit Protection Program in 2006, according to a statement released by farm co-managing partner John Phillips. Profit Protection allows breeders to maximize income and minimize risk, allowing deductions for sales expenses and splitting the resultant proceeds 50/50. However, unlike a foal share, Profit Protection puts a cap on the proceeds received for the stallion's fee at 125% of the listed stud fee.
