Darby Dan Farm plans to keep the fee for Eclipse Award-winning sprinter Aldebaran at $40,000. The 2006 season will be the third season for Aldebaran (Mr. Prospector--Chimes of Freedom, by Private Account) at the Lexington farm.

Darby Dan also announced the following fees: $15,000 for Meadowlake and Perfect Soul; $12,500 for Saarland; $10,000 for Matty G and Vicar; $7,500 for Behrens; and $5,000 for Hap and Repriced. All are fees live foal due Sept. 1.

Behrens, Hap, and Repriced will all be eligible for Darby Dan's Profit Protection Program in 2006, according to a statement released by farm co-managing partner John Phillips. Profit Protection allows breeders to maximize income and minimize risk, allowing deductions for sales expenses and splitting the resultant proceeds 50/50. However, unlike a foal share, Profit Protection puts a cap on the proceeds received for the stallion's fee at 125% of the listed stud fee.
