Bloodstock agent Mark Reid has purchased 100% of Pennsylvania-based Walnut Green Bloodstock from brothers Russell and Richard Jones.

Russell Jones will continue to serve as president of the operation, while Richard will remain an advisor. Reid said he plans to be as "hands-on" as possible. "I'm a hands-on kind of guy, so I plan to have an active hand in running the operation," he said.

"I've done a lot of private sales, and I was just looking for a better outlet for my clients," Reid said of his decision to purchase the operation. "This is something that I began discussing last year during the Keeneland September yearling sale, and we finalized it last week."

Reid is well known for privately acquiring bloodstock for Edmund Gann, who raced multiple grade I winner You, Medaglia d' Oro, and Midas Eyes. He also serves as racing manager for William K. Warren, who campaigns leading Breeders' Cup Classic - Powered by Dodge (gr. I) contender Saint Liam.

Walnut Green, under Reid's ownership, will consign 41 hips to the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic October yearling sale at Timonium, Md.
