Scatmandu, a graded stakes-winning son of Storm Cat, has been acquired by Jim Hernandez and Mary VanderWal for stallion duty at their Market Demand Farms near Chamberino, N.M. The 10-year-old stallion will stand for a partnership for a fee of $3,500Scatmandu is the sire of stakes winner Dysfunctional Lady and stakes-placed Princess McLean in 2005 as well as a pair of runners whose career earnings have topped the $140,000 mark. At the recent Keeneland September yearling sale, a Scatmandu filly sold for $115,000.Scatmandu, who is a full brother to grade I winner November Snow and is out of the Alydar mare Princess Alydar, won the Sport Page Handicap (gr. III) and Leonard Richards Stakes and placed in four New York grade II stakes. Scatmandu formerly stood at Walmac Farm near Lexington.
