Great Lakes Jockey Mata Wins 2,000th Race

Jockey Federico Mata won his 2,000th race Sept. 27 when he guided Realbean to victory in the fourth race at Great Lakes Downs.

Mata ranks third in the Great Lakes Downs' jockey standings.

Through Tuesday, he had 84 wins in 535 mounts (16% win rate) and earnings of $863,018.
