Exchange Rate Sires First Stakes Winner

Grade II winner Exchange Rate   was represented by his first stakes winner when his son Blazing Rate won the $126,375 Foolish Pleasure Breeders' Cup Stakes Sept. 24 at Calder Race Course for owner Ralph C. Sessa.

Exchange Rate, Florida's leading freshman sire by number of winners (nine) and second by progeny earnings, is by Danzig out of the Seeking the Gold mare Sterling Pound. He stands at Satish and Anne Sanan's Padua Stables near Summerfield, Fla. His 2005 fee was $7,500.
