Thomas and Lakin, who owned 25% of Closing Argument's sire, Successful Appeal, before his relocation to Kentucky, were thrilled about the opportunity to bring the stallion's first son to stud in Florida. Said Thomas, "Closing Argument is such a beautiful, well balanced, and well conformed horse with the very rare combination of early two year-old speed and Classic ability. Also, to be able to fill the void Successful Appeal left with Florida breeders when he was moved to Kentucky is a great opportunity. We were so fond of Successful Appeal and feel the same way about his leading money-earner."
Closing Argument only missed the board once in his career. He retires with a record of 9-3-3-2 and earnings of $986,984. Closing Argument was the first foal produced from the Mr. Greeley mare, Mrs. Greeley. He will stand the 2006 breeding season for $10,000 live foal.
