Gerry Dilger announced he has opened a stallion division at his Dromoland Farm near Lexington and that grade II winner Eurosilver will enter stud there in 2006. A 4-year-old son of Unbridled's Song, Eurosilver has been retired and will arrive at the farm shortly.

"I am delighted to enter the stallion market with a horse of this quality," said Dilger, who has partners in the stallion venture. "I always wanted to start a stallion station and this is a great opportunity."

Dromoland has a six-stall stallion barn.

"Eurosilver was brilliant as a 2-year-old, winning the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (gr. II) at Keeneland by nearly five lengths," Dilger said. "He was a graded stakes performer at both three and four, while overcoming illness and injury."

Campaigned as a homebred for the Fustok family's Buckram Oak Farm, Eurosilver won at Saratoga by 5 3/4 lengths in his second start prior to winning the Breeders' Futurity over Tiger Hunt and Limehouse, with The Cliff's Edge and Mass Media also in the beaten field.

Placed on the Triple Crown trail by trainer Nick Zito, Eurosilver opened the season with a five-length score at Gulfstream Park, then missed by a head of winning the Swale Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream in a runner-up effort. He contracted a bacterial infection and didn't start again until the fall. Transferred to trainer Carl Nafzger, Eurosilver ran second to Commentator at Keeneland in the Perryville Stakes.

Eurosilver won this year's Skip Away Handicap (gr. III) Gulfstream and ran second to Saint Liam in the Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I) at Churchill Downs. He won four of a dozen starts and earned $622,310.

Eurosilver is out of the stakes-winning Nijinsky II mare Russian Tango. Second dam, Brave Raj, is a champion 2-year-old filly and Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) winner.
