TOBA Schedules Auction Seminar for Sept. 16

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association will conduct an auction seminar at Keeneland Sept. 16, a dark day for the September yearling sale.

The seminar will feature key topics including conditions of sale, pre- and post-purchase information, the role of a veterinarian, bidding, etiquette, reading a catalogue page, and the Sales Integrity Program.

Speakers include Dan Metzger, president of TOBA; Geoffrey Russell, director of sales for Keeneland; Dr. Stuart Brown of Hagyard-Davidson-McGee; and Bayne Welker of the Consignors & Commercial Breeders Association.

The seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m. EDT in the Keeneland sale pavilion. Registration is $50 and includes all seminar materials and breakfast.
