California Champion Teresa Mc Dead

Teresa Mc, a California champion as a homebred for John Harris, died recently at Harris Farms near Coalinga, Calif., because of a ruptured artery. The 17-year-old mare was by Moscow Ballet out of the stakes-winning Mickey McGuire mare Shayne McGuire.

Named for Harris' mother, Teresa Mc was voted 1991 California champion 3-year-old filly after winning six stakes and running second in three others. Her big wins came at Santa Anita in the La Brea Stakes (gr. III) and California Cup Matron Handicap.

Teresa Mc raced through age five and was retired with eight wins from 24 starts and earnings of $302,945. She produced three winners from eight foals of racing age and was in foal to Harris Farms' stallion High Brite at the time of her death.
