A Bold n' Flashy – Belle Affair filly and a Perigee Moon – Katebyrne colt shared top-priced honors Monday during the select portion of the Canadian-bred yearling auction at Woodbine. Each sold for $190,000 (approximately $159,853 in U.S. funds) to Morgan Firestone. Woodlands (Gail Wood), agent, consigned the filly, and Michael C. Byrne, agent for Park Stud, consigned the colt.

The Ontario division of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society reported that 151 horses were sold in all, and they grossed $5,898,500 ($4,962,585). Their average price was $39,063 ($32,865).

The gross was down from last year's total of $6,354,700, when 171 horses were sold. However, the average increased from $37,162 in 2004.

Preferred sessions of the sale are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
