Grade II winner Mud Route has been purchased by David Bernsen's Carondelet Farm, but will remain at stud at Rick Taylor's Special T Thoroughbreds near Temecula, Calif.

An 11-year-old son of Australian Horse of the Year Strawberry Road, Mud Route is represented this year in Southern California by graded stakes winner Short Route and graded stakes-placed Slick Road. Three-year-old Short Route won the Railbird Stakes (gr. III). Overall, Mud Route has sired five runners that have won or placed in stakes.

Mud Route, who is out of the Sunny's Halo mare Our Suzette, scored his big win in the Californian Stakes (gr. II) and earned a career total of $672,040. Plans call for him to shuttle to Australia next year.
