Approximately 500 third-year veterinary students will participate in the third annual Opportunities in Equine Practice Seminar Sept. 2-4 in Lexington.

The seminar is a forum to promote equine practice as a career choice. Dr. Andy Clark of the Hagyards Equine Medical Institute and Dr. Bill Rood of Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital began to coordinate an effort among equine practitioners to bring the students to Lexington to attend a seminar about the various avenues of practice.

The students hear brief presentations from practitioners and are taken on farm tours of local Thoroughbred farms, Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, and Keeneland.
