Deshawn Parker Wins 2,000th Race

Deshawn L. Parker won his 2,000th race when he guided Keeponthesunniside to victory in the third race at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort Friday.

Keeponthesunniside, a 5-year-old mare owned and trained by Ryan Reynolds, drove to the lead inside the eighth pole to win by one length in the $5,000 claiming race.

Through Aug. 26, Parker ranks third in Mountaineer's summer standings with 32 wins in 271 mounts, two victories behind the leader Dana Whitney, who has 1,998 in his career.
