Millionaire Supah Blitz Retired to Rising Hill in Florida

Millionaire Supah Blitz, who won the Lone Star Park Handicap (gr. III) in May in what turned out to be his final start, has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Jim and Sheila DiMare's Rising Hill Farm near Ocala, Fla.

Supah Blitz' victory in the Lone Star Park Handicap was worth $180,000 for owners Black Saddle Stable, Tom and Jerry Kagele, and Mark Leib, and upped his earnings to $1,319,210. The 5-year-old son of Mecke made a total of 38 starts and won or placed in 20 stakes.

A stakes winner all four years he raced, Supar Blitz also captured such added-money races as the 2004 Del Mar Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) and this year's Tokyo City Handicap (gr. III) among his eight career wins. His stakes-placings include efforts in the Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. I) and Goodwood Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II), plus the Tropical Park Derby (gr. IIIT), Skip Away Handicap (gr. III), and consecutive runnings of the Texas Mile Stakes (gr. III).

Bred in Florida by John Bush's Bee Bee Stables and the Tortora family's Equitor, Supah Blitz raced for Bee Bee Stables and Jacqueline Tortora until his sale in the summer of 2004. Doug O'Neill took the training from Emanuel Tortora following the exchange.

Supah Blitz is out of Boots 'n Jackie (by Major Moran), a graded stakes winner and Florida champion. Supah Blitz' fee is $5,000.
