Act of Duty, the fifth-highest-priced yearling colt of 2001 and a half-brother to Afleet Alex's sire, will enter stud at Arthur I. Appleton's Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Fla., as the property of a syndicate that includes Bridlewood, Stonehedge Farm South, and WinStar Farm.
A 5-year-old son of Mr. Prospector, Act of Duty commanded $3.6 million at the Keeneland July yearling sale. Sent to England, he placed in one of two starts.
Act of Duty is a half-brother to three stakes winners, including grade I winner and millionaire Tap to Music and grade II winner
Northern Afleet . The latter, a Mr. Prospector grandson, is the sire of this year's Preakness (gr. I) and Belmont (gr. I) Stakes winner Afleet Alex.
Act of Duty, who was produced from the Nureyev mare Nuryette, will have his fee announced at a later date.
