AHC Horse Industry Study Available

The American Horse Council announced Aug. 22 that its "Economic Impact of the Horse Industry Study" is now available for sale to the general public. The study finds that the horse industry in the U. S. contributes $39 billion in direct economic impact to the economy and supports 1.4 million jobs on a full-time basis.

When both indirect and induced spending are included, the economic impact reaches $102 billion. The study also estimates the horse population in this country has reached 9.2 million.

The study includes the number of horses by state, industry spending activity, and a comparative analysis of the breakout states.

Also for sale are state breakout reports for California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
